Organizing an event can be challenging, and more so when after the big day ... you have to chase down those who didn't send in the promised checks. Thanks to another networking group, I discovered EventBrite that eliminates this problem entirely.
In the screen shot above, you see an "Early Bird" ticket being offered for $100, plus the buyer pays the $2.50 transaction fee. There are plenty of payment options as illustrated here. You can set up different types of tickets, i.e. the one I'm most familiar with is selling full and half tables.
You can also set a limit to the number of available tickets, i.e. you can see there are 99 remaining tickets in the example above.
Yes, it's free. Yes, it takes a little time to set up your initial account although I think I spent more time setting up Goggle Checkout. The good news - you only need to do this once!
